About our Necklaces
A necklace is the hardest piece a house makes. It has to sit correctly on a moving body, distribute weight so it can be worn for a full evening, and hold its stones in matched colour across a whole line — which is why a fine coloured-stone necklace can take a year to assemble and days to set.
Gem Plaza's necklaces run from single-pendant lines that can be worn daily to ceremonial emerald and ruby sets built for a wedding. Everything is made in our own 10,000 sq ft atelier in Sitapura, where the stringing, setting and final fit are done by hand. Lengths can be adjusted, clasps changed, and most designs adapted in metal or stone to order. Pieces can be seen by appointment at our M.I. Road showroom in Jaipur.
Where is Gem Plaza jewellery made?
Every Gem Plaza piece is made at the house's own atelier in the Gem & Jewellery Zone at Sitapura, Jaipur — 10,000 square feet, more than 150 craftspeople, and all production in house from wax and casting through stone setting, finishing and quality control. The house was founded in Jaipur in 1988 and shows from its M.I. Road showroom.
