Calista

A diamond piece has nowhere to hide. There is no colour to carry it and no unusual material to hold attention, so everything rests on proportion, on the quality of the setting, and on whether the light behaves the way the designer intended.

Calista is the house's answer to that. The designs are linear and architectural — lines, bars, arcs, geometry that reads clearly at a distance — and the craft is in the setting rather than the silhouette. Pavé is worked so the metal between stones nearly disappears; channel work is cut so the line stays unbroken; each stone sits at a height that keeps the surface even to the fingertip.

This is the collection the atelier is judged on internally. A setter who can execute a Calista line can execute anything in the house, and the pieces are used to train and to test. It is also the collection that travels furthest — linear diamond work reads as contemporary in London and Singapore as it does in Jaipur.

Stones are selected for cut before weight. A well-cut smaller diamond will out-perform a larger dull one in every piece here, and we would rather sell the first.
