Frivole

The flower is the oldest motif in Indian jewellery and the hardest to make feel current. Done badly it is decorative; done well it is structural — petals that catch light from different angles, a centre that holds the eye, and enough space between elements that the piece moves.

This collection works the motif at a deliberately light weight. Pieces are built to be worn all day: hollow-formed petals rather than solid casting, settings that sit close to the skin, and no piece heavy enough to pull at an ear over a long evening. Diamonds and coloured stones are used sparingly, as centres and accents rather than coverage.

Much of the work is in the finishing. A petal edge that is left slightly bright against a matte face changes how the whole piece reads in daylight, and that distinction is made by hand, piece by piece, in our atelier.

The collection is the natural companion to Jolie for clients building a wardrobe of pieces rather than buying a single event piece.
