A correction

What this site used to say

The previous version of gemplaza.net described its stones as conflict-free, its practices as fair trade and its sourcing as sustainable. It carried no certificate, no membership number and no third-party verification of any of it — not on the site, and not on any of the marketplaces the business is listed on.

An unsubstantiated ethics claim on a jewellery site is worse than no claim, because it is the first thing a careful buyer checks and the first thing they find nothing behind. Those three claims are not repeated anywhere on this website. What replaces them is below.

Are Gem Plaza's stones ethically sourced?

This site makes no certified ethical-sourcing claim, because no certification has been documented. What is verifiable is narrower: Gem Plaza is a registered Indian manufacturer, CIN U36911RJ2003PTC018054, and cuts, sets and finishes in its own Jaipur atelier rather than through undisclosed subcontractors. Kimberley Process references, RJC membership and a dated sourcing policy are not published here, because none of them has been documented; they will be published here if and when they exist.

In practice

What you can ask for now

Ask, in writing, what accompanies a particular stone. You will get the laboratory report if one exists, the measurements and the origin as it was represented to us, and a plain answer where any of that is unavailable. We would rather tell a buyer that a stone has no report than imply that it has one.

Trade buyers conducting supplier due diligence should ask the same questions of this page that they would ask in person. Nothing here is written to survive being checked; it is written to be checked.
