Chroma

Sapphire is not blue. It is blue, and also yellow, peach, violet, green, grey, and a pink that sits a shade away from ruby — one mineral, corundum, wearing every colour it can hold. Jaipur's dealers have sorted these by hue for generations, and the trays of loose stones in the city are one of the few places you can see the full range laid out at once.

Chroma is what happens when a house with access to those trays stops choosing. Pieces are built as gradients — stones graded across a bracelet or a pair of earrings so the eye travels rather than settles — which means the work is in the sorting rather than the setting. Assembling a single graduated line can mean going through several hundred stones to find twenty that step evenly.

The result is the least ceremonial collection in the house and, for many clients, the one they actually wear. These are pieces for daylight: a bracelet with a working clasp, earrings that survive a full day, rings that are not afraid of being handled.

Diamonds appear as punctuation. The gold is kept warm and simple so the colour does all the work.
