The bangle is the most Indian form in the house and the one with the least room for error. It is rigid, so it must be sized precisely; it is worn in multiples, so its profile has to sit against its neighbours; and it is usually bought for an occasion that will not be repeated.
Gem Plaza makes bangles in kada and openable forms, in plain gold, in diamond pavé, and in coloured stone for bridal commissions. Hinged designs are fitted with a concealed clasp and a safety catch so the piece can be worn by someone who cannot pass a rigid bangle over the hand. Because bridal work usually arrives with a date attached, lead times are agreed in writing at the start of a commission, and progress photographs are shared from our Sitapura atelier as the piece is made.
Every Gem Plaza piece is made at the house's own atelier in the Gem & Jewellery Zone at Sitapura, Jaipur — 10,000 square feet, more than 150 craftspeople, and all production in house from wax and casting through stone setting, finishing and quality control. The house was founded in Jaipur in 1988 and shows from its M.I. Road showroom.
