Everything we send leaves Jaipur. That has consequences for paperwork, timing and cost, and it is better to understand them before you order.

How pieces are sent

Pieces travel by insured courier, fully declared, with the value stated correctly on the customs documentation. We will not under-declare a shipment or describe jewellery as a gift or a sample. Doing so invalidates the insurance, is an offence in both the sending and receiving country, and is the single most common reason a jewellery shipment is seized.

Timing

Export of gemstones and jewellery from India requires documentation, and that documentation takes time that is not transit time. A stated transit figure begins when a shipment is handed to the carrier, not when an order is placed.

Duties and taxes

Domestic orders within India are invoiced with GST at the applicable rate. Our GSTIN is 08AABCG9832C1ZP and it appears on every invoice.

International orders leave India under export documentation and are not charged Indian GST. Whatever your own country charges on import — customs duty, VAT, sales tax, a handling fee from the carrier — is payable by you, on arrival, and is not included in the price you pay us.

Rates vary widely. Several countries treat gold jewellery differently from silver, and several treat loose stones differently from mounted ones. We cannot advise on your local rate and we will not guess at it; check with your own customs authority before you order if the number matters to your decision.

If a shipment is refused at import and returned to us, the return carriage and any charges incurred are yours, and the order is treated as a return by choice under our returns policy.

Documentation you will receive

An invoice, the export declaration, the airway bill, and the laboratory reports for any certificated stones. Keep the invoice and the reports together — they are what you will need for insurance, for resale, and for any customs claim.

Delivery and risk

Risk passes to you on delivery. Someone has to sign; jewellery is never left unattended, with a neighbour, or in a safe place. If you will not be there, arrange a hold at the carrier's depot rather than a redelivery.

Check the piece against the invoice on arrival and tell us within 48 hours if anything is wrong.

Collection in Jaipur

You are welcome to collect from the showroom at Khetan Bhawan, M.I. Road. Bring the invoice and photographic identification. If you are travelling out of India with the piece, tell us in advance so the paperwork is correct for the airport.
